Child Psychotherapy

A variety of issues can impact your home life and your child’s development. This may leave you feeling confused, frustrated and overwhelmed.

I help families address these areas of concern::

  • Behavior and social challenges at home, child care or school

  • Difficult life events, such as divorce, loss and exposure to trauma

  • Challenges with developmental milestones such as sleep, potty training and separation

  • A child’s excessive worrying or sadness

  • Neurodiversity including Autism, ADHD and sensory processing disorders

Services provided:

  • Child-parent psychotherapy: Young children are seen together with their parents. This helps parents carry over therapy into every day life.

  • Play Therapy: Young children use the language of play to express themselves. Through play, we are able to address challenging emotions, help children develop skills to regulate themselves and build resilience.

  • Trauma-focused therapy: This is a short-term therapy to help children who are struggling to heal from a traumatic experience.Individual Therapy: As children get older, they can participate in talk therapy. I help older children develop skills for managing intense emotions, social challenges, self-esteem, as well as, depression and anxiety.

  • Parent guidance: I meet with the parents to talk through the concerns, make a plan to address the problem and then assess and adjust the plan as necessary. I help provide support for parents, so you can support your child.
