Child Psychotherapy
A variety of issues can impact your home life and your child’s development. This may leave you feeling confused, frustrated and overwhelmed.
I help families address these areas of concern::
Behavior and social challenges at home, child care or school
Difficult life events, such as divorce, loss and exposure to trauma
Challenges with developmental milestones such as sleep, potty training and separation
A child’s excessive worrying or sadness
Neurodiversity including Autism, ADHD and sensory processing disorders
Services provided:
Child-parent psychotherapy: Young children are seen together with their parents. This helps parents carry over therapy into every day life.
Play Therapy: Young children use the language of play to express themselves. Through play, we are able to address challenging emotions, help children develop skills to regulate themselves and build resilience.
Trauma-focused therapy: This is a short-term therapy to help children who are struggling to heal from a traumatic experience.Individual Therapy: As children get older, they can participate in talk therapy. I help older children develop skills for managing intense emotions, social challenges, self-esteem, as well as, depression and anxiety.
Parent guidance: I meet with the parents to talk through the concerns, make a plan to address the problem and then assess and adjust the plan as necessary. I help provide support for parents, so you can support your child.
